Whats is an initial appointment?
- Your initial appointment will include assessment, treatment and diagnosis of your particular problem. It usually takes between 45mins to 1 hour. At physiotherapy 4 life we believe strongly in patient education and will aim to ensure you have a good understanding of your problem which will give you confidence and drive to help correct it with our help. We will discuss goals and treatment options to ensure we have a clear aim to achieve.
How long is a follow up appointment?
-Usually 30 mins.
What should I wear?
-To help us with your assessment and treatment please:
Have suitable clothing; for example if your shoulder is to be assessed then a training top/sports bra if appropriate or shorts if your problem relates to your lower limb
Bring footwear (shoes/trainers) or insoles, as these can be a useful tool in our assessment, especially if pain is aggravated or related to a sport/running activity.
How do I know if a Physiotherapist is Qualified?
- Prefessionally recognised & Trained Physiotherapists should be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and MUST be registered with the Health Professions Ccouncil (HPC). All of our Physiotherpists are CSP & HPC Registered.
Do I need to be referred for Physiotherapy?
- People can self refer to Physiotherapy 4 Life without seeing their GP or a consultant. However, if you have Private Health Insurance it is likely that you will need to see your GP, please contact your Insurance company for more details.
Should I bring anything else?
- If you have any investigation results / reports relating to your condition for example letters and x-rays please bring these.
Finally, if you have been referred to physiotherapy 4 life bring any referral letters and contact details for the referrer, along with GP (and consultant) details as appropriate.
